Land North West and South East of Imperial Road, Heysham
Welcome
Lancaster City Council and Lancashire County Council invites you to provide feedback on exciting proposals at Land North West and South East of Imperial Road, Heysham for the Lancashire economy in the Growth Plan.

Lancaster City Council and its development partners are committed to delivering a flexible commercial masterplan for the area on an allocated site.

The site is allocated as part of Lancaster City Council Local Plan Policies EC5.5, EC1.10 and SG13 and forms part of the Heysham Gateway Anchor Strategic Site as part of the Draft Lancashire Growth Plan 2025 – 2035.

The exciting proposals comprise new high-quality commercial buildings and associated landscaping that is well separated from the existing residential areas and complements the existing industrial landscape and nature reserve.

The allocation is a vital component of the Heysham Gateway area which is one of the 11 anchor strategic sites identified as transformational for the Lancashire economy and has the potential to provide significant new jobs.

Your views and feedback are important to us so please feel free review the proposals and supporting information and let us know what you think.
What has happened so far?

Lancaster City Council and Lancashire County Council have been working alongside Wilson Mason Architecture and WSP to bring forward a scheme which realises the development potential of the site and aligns with Lancaster City Council and Lancashire County Council’s aspirations for Heysham. They have worked with Council officers in developing the proposals to ensure that the site can be developed in an aspirational, yet sensitive manner, and have undertaken baseline assessments and surveys.

We are now engaging with local residents, businesses, politicians and stakeholders to help shape the detail of the scheme and to share ideas and gain insight into what is important to the community prior to the submission of a planning application to Lancaster City Council this year.
